Jeremy Buckingham MLC
1st May Rally
Jeremy's office is currently supporting the NSW Farmers association's plans for a major rally in Sydney, outside Parliament House, on the 1st of May. Standing together, farmers, environmentalists, community activists and Greens will protest against the Government's failed attempt to regulate the mining and coal seam gas industry. The rally will occur just two days before the end of the consultation period for the Government's Strategic Regional Land Use Policy.
The event is sponsored by a wide range of organisations including the NSW Farmers, the Country Women's Association, Lock The Gate, GetUp, Nature Conservation Council, thoroughbred breeders, and wine growers. We are working together to protect our water, our agricultural lands and environmentally sensitive areas in a constructive and public way.
To join the rally, meet in Martin Place between Philip St and Elizabeth St, between 11.45am and 12.15pm. The march will start at 12.30pm to Parliament House, and finish at 1.30pm.
Bring your home-made placards and your voice to be sure our important message gets through to the media and the government.
On the 'Protect our Land and Water' website, you can also register your interest in booking a seat on one of buses if coming from out of town.
